PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Stow College was originally constructed in the 1930’s and opened its doors in 1934 as an educational establishment offering teaching courses and subsequent qualifications in the engineering sector. In the 1960s an extension was added to the roof of the building to provide an extra floor of teaching space/ offices for the staff and students at the college. ABS were delighted to receive the tender enquiry from Morrison Constructionto strip existing roof coverings and replace with new, and install a new cladding system to the rooftop extension, offering a number of benefits to the historic building such as compliance with current building regulations, increased thermal performance, weathering issues resolved, increased aesthetics, strength and stability in new construction. ABS initially returned their tender to Morrison Construction in September 2022 and following 15 months of discussions and negotiations between the parties to ensure client’s specific requirements were addressed.
